Adela Deaconu is the Head of Legal Group Exports Controls in Legal Compliance department of Royal Philips in the Netherlands.
In this role, Adela is the binding factor for export controls and sanctions compliance programs across all Royal Philips businesses, markets and functions worldwide.

Passionate about bringing health solutions to most remote areas of the world, Adela understands how to deliver sustainable & compliant solutions in the global geopolitical echo-system navigating complex areas of cross-jurisdictional sanctions laws and regulation.

Adela is leading a global team of subject matter experts in export controls and sanctions and advising and guiding the Philips Export Control Officer Network around the world. She is representing Philips towards various governmental and non-governmental bodies worldwide and actively participating in export controls and sanctions regulatory and policy matters.
Adela is an export controls and sanctions professional with expertise and experience in leading operations, projects and teams in semiconductions, consumer, personal health and healthcare industry. Areas of expertise cover compliance framework management, license management, risk management, government affairs, M&A due diligence, CFIUS, encryption controls, sanctions, under EU, US and other legal jurisdictions relevant for Philips.

In 2017 Adela has been nominated and received the Award for Excellence in Export Controls – Netherlands as part of the AI 2017 Influential Businesswoman Awards.
