Jaume Comas Mir, CSS, is a Senior Legal Counsel and Legal Sanctions Compliance Manager at MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company SA (known as “MSC”), a leading shipping company with a fleet of 850 vessels and 675 offices in 155 countries. He is also a Certified Sanctions Specialist (CSS) by the ACSS, holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master in International Studies. He has been a sanctions legal counsel at MSC since 2017 and took the management of the Sanctions team at the beginning of 2021. He is currently in charge of advising MSC on the development, implementation and follow up of its sanctions compliance processes, managing a team of sanctions professionals at the MSC headquarters which has the support of a vast network of compliance officers worldwide. Previously he worked for a renowned maritime law firm in Barcelona, Spain, between 2013 and 2017 representing shipping companies and cargo owners on maritime, road and air transportation claims. He is based in Geneva.
